David A. Kates is the author of three memoirs in poetry: Coupled, Inheriting Weight, and Completing the Circle. His articles have been published by The Record ("Why I No Longer Eat Meat"), Faunalytics, California Library Association Youth Services Interest Group Briefings (May & August 2012), VOYA (Voices of Youth Advocates), and Current: The Newspaper about Public Radio and Television.
David A. Kates is Head Librarian, Textbook Coordinator, and Thesis Co-coordinator at Saint Louis Priory School. Recently, he wrote a grant to use the campus as an environmental classroom. He has worked as a school librarian for more than 15 years in Los Angeles and St. Louis. David holds an MLIS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MA in Journalism from the University of Southern California.
David lives in St. Louis with his wife and son, where they enjoy museums, the Zoo, biking, and eating out.
